We forge in two places. A workshop in the United States, another in the United Kingdom — and between them, every piece that leaves us is made by hand, one at a time, for the person who ordered it.
Nothing here is mass-produced. When your order arrives, someone picks up the steel and starts work.
Why Damascus never repeats
Damascus steel is made by folding. Two steels of different composition are forged together, folded, forged again, and again — building up hundreds of layers. Etched at the end, those layers surface as a pattern that flows like grain in wood, or smoke, or water.
No smith can control exactly where the layers fall. That's the point. The pattern on your bracelet exists once, on your bracelet, and nowhere else in the world. We photograph one piece; you receive your own.
The materials we work in
Damascus steel. Grade 5 titanium. Timascus and Zircuti — titanium and zirconium forged in layers and coloured by heat alone, no dye, no plating. Mokume gane, the Japanese technique of bonding metals and cutting back to reveal the strata. Damasteel, superconductor, black zirconium, sterling silver, brass, copper, bentwood.
We work in these because they reward the work. A stamped steel ring looks the same on day one and day one thousand. These don't.
Engraving, inside and free
Most pieces carry free engraving — a name, a date, a set of coordinates, a few words inside the band where only the wearer knows they're there.
It's laser cut into the inside face. That keeps the outside of the piece exactly as you saw it, and it means the lettering stays crisp on metals as hard as titanium and zirconium, which hand tools struggle with.
Engraving is done in our UK workshop, so an engraved piece is always made to order. Pieces we hold in stock ship plain and fast.
Two workshops, two countries, no customs
Having a workshop on each side of the Atlantic isn't an accident of history. It's how we keep orders out of customs.
American orders are dispatched within the United States. British orders are dispatched within the United Kingdom. Neither crosses a border on the way to you, which means no import charges, no held parcels, and no email asking you to pay a fee before your ring is released.
We also hold stock of our most popular pieces in our US warehouse. Those ship the next business day rather than being forged from scratch — you'll see them marked In Stock on the product page, with the arrival date shown before you buy.
